UUCSA members meet with Muslim Embassies
UUCSA President and Secretary General, Maulana Abdul Khaleck Allie and Maulana Yusuf Patel, visited the following embassies in Pretoria on 25 October 2022:
- Mauritanian Embassy
2. Palestinian Embassy
3. Qatar Embassy
4. Turkish Embassy
All four meetings were extremely well received and beneficial.
The Ambassadors expressed their admiration for Muslims in South Africa, their ability to preserve their Muslim identity as a minority, their integration into society and their contribution to the upliftment of the poor and needy.
The ambassador from Mauritania has requested for assistance in providing expertise in agriculture and farming from the Muslim community in South Africa. Mauritania is 100% Muslim country and extremely poor.
The Palestinian ambassador had appealed for unity in dealing with the Palestinian issue and expressed his appreciation for the support of South Africans even though we may politically differ on many issues around the liberation of Palestine.
The Qatar embassy invited the diplomatic corporates of the Muslim major countries. It was held to bid farewell to the the Ambassador of Khazakhstan who seems to be immensely popular among the diplomatic corps. It was also used to launch a treatise on al Farabi who was a jurist, philosopher, chemist, and scholar of many disciplines. The Ambassador was the chief editor of the book. He specifically made mention of Ml A K Allie and UUCSA in his address.
It was certainly a unique opportunity to meet people from different Muslim countries and to introduce UUCSA to them.
